Contract Manager's update - Pocklington

This work consists of 2no bungalows and 2no hoses, in which Mark Swallow is the site manager, which is Mark’s 1st site on his own and is performing very well. We have carried out all works from excavations/beam and block floor (cube 6) to 1st lift masonry only (externally), due to a High Voltage Electrical cable which has to be diverted by YEDL. This diversion has delayed the project by approximately 4 weeks, due to YEDL which we intend to gain back, however we have continued, were possible to progress on site internally, which has achieved an internal level to 1st floor joists.

A meeting on site with all H&S representatives was carried, which gave the decision to stop any erection of scaffolding, due to the dangers that are present. We have set up a traffic management system that enables the college vehicles and pedestrians, which is adjacent to the site, be managed safely and controlled to accommodate/coordinate college critical periods and our deliveries to site.

Design issues have been a major issue, however as always Hobson and Porter are on the ball and identifying and resolving any issues as they come to make the build go as efficiently as possible. We have had no issues with the local residents and have had good relations with the college.
