Contract Manager's update - Withernsea

This project consists of 6no houses, which are in 2no sets of three. This as Pocklington has had design issues, which are being resolved, as we move forward. The site manager is Chris Thompson, which is Chris’s first site and is performing very well indeed.

The works are now completed from excavations to cube 6 beam and block flooring FFL and masonry superstructure is due to commence next week. We have had good relations with the local residents; however, we have had minor vandalism. There has been additional items to the external, such as retaining wall added, due to levels on site that are difficult to achieve, which has now solved the problem.

All works are on programme. We have agreed with the community centre, which is adjacent to the site to connect our temporary services to site, which has saved on us applying to the statutory authorities.

Prior to works starting we had an asbestos survey done on some existing garages, which came back fine, which enabled us to demolish the garages and install the piling and ground beams, which potentially could have been a major delay.

The ground work sub-contractor overall has been very efficient and has been a pleasure to work with a contractor that just gets on with the works, with no issues.
